"There is deep wisdom within our very flesh, if we can only come to our senses and feel it. "
-Elizabeth A. Behnke
Ain’t that the truth! It sounds so easy. Just come to our senses. Hah. Here’s the one little hiccup with this whole growth/transformation/spiritual awakening thing: when we were born, we were given this incredible instrument, our body, but with no instructions. We grew into a fully functioning human being in only nine months—which, by the way, is pretty astounding. However, when we got this new instrument, we were never given the owner’s manual! A little wacky, right? We had to learn to use our body (and mind) from family, friends, and society as a whole. Essentially we learned from other people’s experiences. Not our own! This is why so many people feel a constant conflict within themselves. Often times people feel a low vibrating ache present in their lives. It could be felt as fear, shame, guilt, anger, sadness, jealousy, comparison, judgment, anything! There is a conflict somewhere in the instrument. It is between who YOU are and what programming you received in life.
It’s like if your soul has an imprint of an artist but you were raised to be a sewer inspector. There will be conflict. Big time!
The other hiccup is that once we start feeling feelings, we have no idea what to do with them. Some people bottle them up, ignore them, and other’s are wildly expressive without an ounce of groundedness (that’s not a word but it is now).
Here’s the key, GET THE INSTRUCTIONS! I don’t care if you get the instructions from this blog, or from books, or from a voice high atop a mountain- get the instructions. That’s all you need. We are absolutely limitless beings. We are limitless in capacity to grow, in potential, in energy, in EVERY DAMN THING WE TOUCH! Just get the instructions. Bryce’s Grand Experiment is a good start (if I may say so). It gives you tools and options. Just start somewhere and choose to begin. And once you begin, never stop. If our bodies by design hold limitless potential, then why would you ever stop exploring it.
I want the instructions! I want the magic! And I will figure out how to set the clock on the VCR, even if it kills me.
P.s. here is a list of books that really helped begin my process:
