Momentum through experimentation

“This one is going to be sloppy.”

“It ain’t going to be perfect.“

“It’s going to be messy.”

“It’s for me.”

“It’s for them.”

“I want to do this.”

“The result doesn’t matter. The journey does.”

This is what I tell myself when I start a new project. I give myself permission to be a little all over the place. I have to. It’s where the learning comes from. The experimentation.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. But it’s in the act of permission that helps fuel momentum.

If I don’t do that, I am icing the creative process and stifling my muse. And a muse mustn't be stifled.

If there is something you care about, or even someone, this is the process.

Just knowing that, allows me to breathe a sigh of relief.

Experiment. Have fun. Be friggin awesome.
